About Us

In January 2006, God assured Curtis that he would bless him and that people would come from across the Chicagoland area to worship with him. Consequently, Pastor Curtis envisioned a church where people could come as they are, experience the love of God, strengthen their relationship with Christ and feel appreciated. Therefore Pastor Curtis was determined to be a church that meets the needs of the community, one that is committed to reaching the poor and making a positive impact in the lives of the less fortunate by spreading the love and abundance of Jesus Christ.

In April 2006, Abundant Rain Ministries was founded by Curtis Hill and twenty faithful members. Our first public service was held at Neil Armstrong Elementry School in Richton Park, IL with over one hundred people in attendance. Seventeen people joined our church as it began to grow.

In June 2006 we moved to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Richton Park, IL, where we were able to be more of a light in the community. We were suprised to have over two hundred people in one of our worship services. Word of our church permeated throughtout the community and once again more people came to visit and joined our church.

In October 2006, we moved to Hirch Funeral home in Matteson, IL which seemed to be a more suitable facility for our continuous growth. However, with growth comes pain and most of our members were afraid to come to a funeral home and thus moved on. This proved to be our wilderness experince and we were down to the faithful twenty. No one wanted to visit us in our new location.

But God had a ram in the bush. In October 2007, we moved to a small church building in Markham, IL. Since then, God has proven Himself and held true to his promise. We now have people from different faiths, ages and diverse backgrounds worshipping together.
